Channeling Coco

One of my favorite scenes in Coco Avant Chanel

Audrey Tautou as Coco Chanel (I think she's trying to ride the horse here)

One of my fave outfits in Coco Avant Chanel

My title is so classy and I just popped it right out of my brain but anyhoo, those images above were my inspiration for this 20s themed party that I went to. It was my uncle's 50th and the food was okay. Oh, and I think the cool part about it was that it was a surprise party. It was sweet and nice and my uncle's face when he was asked to give a speech when he arrived at the venue was hilarious. It was awesome and cool and I'm glad some people took the "themed" party seriously. One lady dressed so badass she had this fur shawl thing going on. I wanted to touch the fake fur. =))

That's me and my brother called me Madeline (the cartoon character) and I dunno why, I'm going to take a leap and guess that it's because of the ribbon.

Topshop Bowler hat, blazer and shoes, Ukay trousers and shirt, random ribbon found in  my mom's closet...I think it's from her dress or something.

Btw, sorry for the phone camera photo I got, was too laze to go and grab a decent camera for this since we got home late. So there, phone camera taken. Forealz though, I can't keep the cool level of Audrey Tautou and the epicness of Chanel in those Palazzo trousers but hey, at least I tried.

I would also like to say that the reason why I wore trousers instead of the TYPICAL flapper dress that everyone thinks of when you say "20'S!" is because Coco Chanel was one of the first chicks in those days to wear trousers. I mean, could you imagine,in the sea of skirt-wearing women there were these handful of cool chicks who were so rebellious wearing men's clothes? They were dressed up like the men and did the most badass thing a woman could do in those days, WEAR THE PANTS. Oh, and also do some manly stuff. They were leveling the playing field back then! (NOTE: I just watched the first season of Sex and the City)

If none of them had ever decided to wear trousers for comfort and maneuverability, well, I may not be even wearing one today. So thank you, Coco Chanel. Thank you for wearing those trousers when you wanted to ride your horse!

My trousers kept on falling that night
Coco Chanel in her chic palazzo trousers and cool hat.

PS. Coco Chanel photos aren't mine, just found them in google.
