K-everything.

I've been sick for the past 3 days and I've been sleeping all day long. It seems like it's never enough. Anyways, when I get tired of sleeping I turn on the tv. I was watching Channel M because lelz, I am into kpop these days and it's all because of my friend, Rosa. (Hi Rosa).

M! Countdown was on and I heard them play:

They were pretty awesome, I wasn't sure if they were playing live but their song was so good I knew I had to google them later on when I got better. Now that I'm feeling good, I downloaded their album. Super good music. I mean kpop is good and all that electric stuff and concept outfits and all but the K-indies are surprisingly good as well.

Fig. 1:

Heard this from a K.drama I'm currently watching right now (which is surprisingly funny). You should check out an episode or two. It's actually a good series that's good for killing time. It's a lighthearted romantic comedy about a dating agency that uses certain scenarios to make the target fall in love with the Agency's client without them knowing that it was all part of the plan/script.

Fig. 2:

Also taken from that said drama (since I'm still such a noob at anything Korean anyways), here's a song from an artist called RA.D. I had to hunt this song down only to fail. Luckily, an awesome friend who also loves kpop saw my twitter feed and she sent me a link for the song!

hehehehe, I'm so into kpop that I've delved into K-indie. Lelz.
Anyways, this just made me realize that music can cross boundaries even without understanding it. Music can move you even if you don't understand what it's saying because in the end, what matters is that you can feel it.

Awards

Ooohh, our exhibit is nominated for the Best Exhibit category in MMA Awards (Multimedia Awards). I wasn't a fan of the first Awards but since we're nominated...I might as well go. Hahaha.

In the meantime, here's something for a morning soundtrack while dressing up:

Walk.

Before I end my day, here's a little thing I did with my recently purchased Lomokino.

Walk from Nikki Tuason on Vimeo.

I got these developed right after the holidays. Speaking of holidays, a New Year's Resolution is in tow. I am going to spread the S.H.R.T stickers, learn how to use acrylic paints once again, and I've decided to talk to strangers!!! Not in a way that would get me killed...but in a Scott Schuman kind of approach, sumthin like dis:

I dunno how I'm gonna do it because I am not a people person but whatevs, I want to take some cool photos so I have to do it. Btw, did you know there's a tutorial for talking to strangers?
Click here to know how to approach them carefully! =))))

Also, I don't JUST want to take photos, I'm planning on using my Lomokino more and I have a project in mind using the Lomo and it's something like this:

Japan from Edwin Europe on Vimeo.

I can't wait to have the balls to talk to strangers and start this (sorta expensive) project of mine but I'm pretty excited. Sooo here's to a New Year! WOOOOOO!!!

PS. I am also hoping that this year, I would be allowed to go to a foreign llaaaannddd~~~ I can't tell what the place is yet...but for now...

BYEEE!!! :D

Lost.

I really have no clue where to begin. It seems like after the finals of last term, I am lost. I don't know where I've last stopped ("blog-wise"...sorry di ko type ang term na "blogger" so I really have to put " " ) and I don't know what photos to put up next. Everything's bizarre-o right now. I know, such a sad title for a New Year! (and apparently, according to the Mayan calendar, could be our last but we'll never know that until it arrives soo...yeah.) I shall try and put a recap on the things that have happened in the last few months last year but I warn you, they may/may not be in order any more.

Let's see let's see, what do I have here?

Don't mind the man with the huge armzz, the man in blue is my focus in this picture :)) Juma-Jak and Jil kasi ako.

I like yo backpack!

Cutie artist in da houuseee! =)) Creepy stalker pic. I apologize.

Blackout in UM

Excuse me sir, but yo backpack is pretty.

This girl was pretty serious in studying. Just like what T. Swift said, beauty is sincerity.

I miss this table.

The way to Betty.

Old school typography for the win.

Stop.

HOSHIT, BRICKS!!! I looooveee bricks!

I apologize in advance for the blurry photos, I blame my sweaty palms and crappy old camera.

Our photo for the VIDPRD2 Finals.

So I guess that's it for today. Part 2 tomorrow? Maybeeeeee. We'll see, we'll see. :D

Something Girls Should See/Hear

I'll let the video speak for itself. JUST PRESS PLAY. :)

She pushed in before me,
in the supermarket queue.
Pretending not to see me in the way women do.
She put on the counter some bread and milk too,
and then she pulled out 5 different bottles of shampoo.
And I thought to myself, "I will never understand women."
And I hear some of you saying "Yeah but all men are the same,
they all think they’re so cool and are ruled by their dicks."
That might be true of me, but it ain’t true of all of us,
so don’t point that finger so quick.
I do see some of the blokes though,
in the clubs, pinching girls asses,
trying to be intimidating, making obscene passes.
"Man, she’s a goddess,
you can tell by the way she dances."
But you call her a slag when she don’t accept your advances.
You just show you got no respect for yourself.
Show you ain’t got the balls to just talk to a girl.
So when she chats to me,
you spit at her and shout "WHORE."
Well, it’s written in the art of war,
to fight only the battles you can win.
But I will defend your honour until they kick my face in.
If you have to scrape me, broken boned, bloodied, bruised and battered up off the floor,
well fuck it.
Integrity is what black eyes were invented for.
So down with the dictatorship,
they’re so cock sure,
they use rape as a weapon of war.
Fuck the man that thinks it’s okay to give his wife a punch.
Fuck the judge that said it weren’t rape cause she was drunk.
And if you’re pro life,
I mean, if you’re PRO life,
then become a doctor, or foster a kid,
make it possible for people who are alive, to LIVE.
But don’t you dare tell women, what they can and can’t do,
when it was a woman that gave life to you.
Yes, I’m a man who may be stereotypical,
but I ain’t afraid to say it, I think all women are beautiful,
and strong.
Too fat, too thin,
that’s just media spin.
You look best when you’re comfortable in your own skin.
So I’m sorry, if we made you feel untrue,
if truth be known, I love all of you.
You’re a giver of life, and a warrior too,
so do you really need 5 different bottles of shampoo?

OUR PSA!!!

So I guess he was able to save his PSA since it's now in youtube. To lessen your hassle (I like to think that you guys would like to see our PSA), here's the video :D

I really liked the editing, ended up quite nicely. Hope you guys liked it too. The only comment our prof had there is that the gun part is going to be censored if this were to be used on tv. I get her point. We got a 3.5 for this so all is cool. :D

Keep Drawing.

keep drawing from studio shelter on Vimeo.

Pretty cool and quite inspiring.

We Found Love

I first checked this cover out and loved the lyrics instantly. I then decided to check the original version and loved it too.

Here's the original version:

The girl narrating at the start is Agyness Deyn! I knew that accent was hers (FAN LANG TALAGA AKO OK?) =)) Also, the guy with the blonde hair looks like Matty from Skins. I'm not sure tho but I swear I've seen him before. Or maybe it's just me. I love how they didn't hold back in the "visuals" of the video it really meshed well with the song too.
Might I also add that Rihanna is getting good at these songs that she's releasing, I'm surprised really coz I'm not much of a fan but now I'm considering of downloading her album. I still have to think about that but in the meantime, you guys just continue on singing with the song :))

Oh, and I love them both but I like listening to the slow version moaarrr. :))

T-shirt of the Future

Found this in Groupe de Ville's blog. Pretty cool and inspiring and it might have just given me an idea for my concept in CADVIS Finals project.

We Are Young
