Film Cameras

I feel depressed and lonely and uninspired. I'm stuck here at home and somehow even the blogs I follow are not doing anything to boost up this emotional dump that I'm in. To do something, I decided to blog about my recent purchase. I bought a film camera yesterday and I just want to share it with you guys.

Here's what the camera looks like (oh, and photo is not mine but that's exactly what I bought):

I've been into film cams lately, ever since I got the Lomokino, I've been using/purchasing films non-stop (I have neglected my DSLR and I feel sooo bad for it). I try to look for cheap films and I've decided to befriend one of the store owners in Hidalgo just to get a discount. He's kind of a strict Chinese dude so all I got from my recent film-splurge was a discount of 5 pesos. Jeezzz. Anyhoo, I'm pretty sure as I buy more films from him he'll give me a bigger discount next time. Let's cross our fingers to that!

I wasn't really going to buy the Yashica Electro 35 GS because I was really going to buy a Yashica TLR. Yep, those cameras that look like these:

But when we got there, the dude already sold it to someone else! UGH. I was soooo disappointed but I was determined not to go home without anything in hand. I scanned the streets out for another TLR with a cheap price but nothing was as good as the Yashica I wanted. :(

I went back to the dude selling the Yashica TLR and just bought one of his 35s instead. At first I wasn't as happy as I thought I would be but as I click the trigger of the Electro, I realize that it wasn't such a bad purchase after all. Maybe I'm also depressed because it's night time and I want to roam around manila and take pictures but I can't coz that would be suicidal. :))

There are two things I learned with purchasing the Electro 35 and that's
1.) when you find something you really want, you should NEVER let it go and 2.) Not everything is what it seems...

and I'm starting to fall in love with my Electro 35. :)

PS. I also got it at a cheaper price compared to the TLR and wear this shirt:

Woooo, support FILM! :D
